Marketing: What it is not.

When an ordinary person hears the word marketing they usualy come up with the word selling. However this is quite wrong marketing and selling are two very different things. It's not selling your product but making people buy your product. It's not producing first and force customers to buy it but understanding what customers want and produce in that direction. In short marketing is deffinetly not selling the product.

Sellective: The following photo is from a furniture company which sells realy expensive furniture. The main reason behind this is that all furniture are hand crafted in other words piece of art. The unique furniture is ofcourse not easy to reach out and the prices are very high.








Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams
Exclusive: This picture is from another company which has more stores across U.S. but not every where. They have a very good design line and it makes the brand quite popular. You can buy some of the furniture from online store aswell if you can afford it ofcourse.







İstikbal
Intensive: This picture is from a Turkish furniture producer. It has stores everywhere and prices are good enough for every income level. The quality however is not that high and company profits by selling more instead of value added of its products.

Packaging, sure is a very important concept in marketing. Creating a visual attractiveness to your product and making your customers thing twice before they pass your product. Depending on what you are selling and who you are targeting packaging comes with various types of designs, writings etc all to reach the right customer when their eyes are looking for a random good in a shopping center. Also having a unique package means your product is different and most likely you can charge more.

respective sectors. The colours may change but the symbols
stays the same.
Marketing is all about using good stragies in order to gain long term customers and ofcourse their happiness. To achiev this long term goal marketers have to create a unique thing about their brand or product. This could be the symbol of company, a face, voice, motto etc. This symbol should be the first thing that customers thing about when they heard about your company. The positioning should never be changed often. Because people may not follow the changes but if you use your symbol for a long time as soon as people see it they realise whose symbol that is. This symbol or the face of your company should be sellected very carefully and should follow certain criteria. It should reflect the differences of your brand and its strenght.

Customer Satisfaction

A Happy customer suggests you to other people.
It's an effective way to get new customers.
Customer satisfaction is the most important and the key consept in marketing. Through a satisfied customer the firm gains good reputation among other customers. Also this person can make your free and maybe more effective advertisement which makes other people to choose you against your competitors. Satisfied customer is also a loyal customer who is eager to try your products, give feedback and ofcourse buy. S/he has an emotional connection with your company. So in case of a mistake or unwanted situation S/he will have more  tolarance which is very important since in opposite occasion the customer won't buy something and also influences other people in a negative way.
